Greenwood, SC – The Greenwood Genetic Center (GGC) welcomes Matt Logan, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Self Regional Healthcare (SRHC), to their Board of Directors.

Dr. Logan, a longtime Greenwood resident, was promoted in December to President and CEO of SRHC, where he has served for seventeen years as an emergency room physician, and most recently as Chief Medical Officer.

“I have long been impressed with the phenomenal work of the Greenwood Genetic Center in their work to further understand and treat genetic conditions,” said Logan. “During medical school, while completing a clerkship in Melbourne, Australia, I was reading one of my textbooks and was proud to find that several of the genetic conditions I was learning about were first discovered in my hometown of Greenwood, SC at the Greenwood Genetic Center! The Center truly has an international reputation for excellence in the field.”

“GGC serves as the Department of Medical Genetics at SRHC, and as such, we have enjoyed a very productive relationship through the years,” said Steve Skinner, MD, Director of GGC. “We are happy to welcome Dr. Logan, a dedicated clinician, proven leader, and patient advocate to join our team.”

“GGC faculty and staff bring great insights into the field of genetics to the clinicians in our service area,” added Logan. “I believe the future of medicine is tied closely to the field of genetics, and I am excited and honored to serve on the Greenwood Genetic Center Board of Directors.”
