SC Senate Finance Committee Visits GGC

The Greenwood Genetic Center welcomed members of the SC Senate Finance Committee to campus on Thursday. GGC Director, Dr. Steve Skinner, provided the group with an overview of the work of the Center including updates on current autism research and the plan for economic development in the area. The senators and staff then toured the campus including the research facility, clinic and diagnostic laboratories to better understand the technological advances that are directly impacting patients across South Carolina.

“We have always enjoyed a great relationship with our colleagues at the state level and are pleased to share with them the work being done here at GGC,” said Skinner. “This visit allowed them to see firsthand how the state’s investment in our treatment and prevention programs not only saves healthcare dollars, but also, and more importantly, improves lives for the citizens of SC and beyond.”
