Dr. Clarkson has been with the Greenwood Genetic Center since 1993 as a Clinical Geneticist located in Columbia, SC. She is primarily involved with patient care but is also involved with teaching medical students, residents, and genetic counseling students through a joint appointment with the University of SC in Columbia. Dr. Clarkson’s areas of special interest include birth defects, especially craniofacial anomalies.

Any patient with a birth defect, learning problem, developmental delay, or known/suspected genetic condition may be seen in the office located in downtown Columbia, or at outlying clinics in the midstate area. On-site consultations are available for individuals who are affiliated with the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. Consultations are also available for hospitalized patients.

A Rare Beauty

The lobby of the JC Self Research Institute at GGC was transformed into a garden – of sorts.
