Lichty, Angie

Angie joined the Greenwood Genetic Center in 2002 from the University of Florida where she worked as a pediatric genetic counselor. Currently Angie provides pediatric and adult genetic counseling services in Columbia and also at Children’s Rehabilitative Services genetics clinics in central South Carolina. She is also involved in the instruction of genetic counseling students. Angie is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors.

Makayla was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in April of 2015 at the age of two. At about 18 months, we noticed she had started some repetitive hand motions, and her pediatrician was a little concerned that she did not have many words.
