Your generosity and support goes so far with the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation. Your gift allows us to continue our research and effort bettering the lives of those impacted by genetic disorders.
The GGC is currently raising funds for our Care Reimagined campaign. By giving to Care Reimagined, your gift supports the Greenwood Genetic Center’s Precision Medicine Initiative focused on what we call our 4 As.
Community involvement and awareness plays a big role in the impact the Greenwood Genetic Center is able to make. The more awareness we can raise among providing world-class genetic care, the better we can support our patients and their families. These upcoming events are open to all interested in supporting the GGC mission.
During Grateful Giving Week, we come together to ensure no family walks their journey alone. Your support brings answers, hope, and care to those facing rare genetic conditions. Join us for a week of giving and impact.
The Race the Helix event began when one grateful family had a desire to give back. The Shenal family founded the race in honor of their daughter, who was diagnosed and is cared for at the Greenwood Genetic Center. What started as a small expression of thanks has grown into a community-wide event raising support and awareness for families impacted by genetic disorders.
Race the Helix includes two events – the Greenwood race in the fall and the Upstate race in the spring. Each event is a family-friendly 5K run/walk and 1-mile walk, welcoming all ages and abilities—including strollers and wheelchairs. Proceeds benefit the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation, helping advance research, provide compassionate care, and bring answers to families across South Carolina and beyond.
Keys for Care is our signature annual fundraiser. This lively event features an energetic dueling pianos performance bringing together community members for an evening of music, laughter, and philanthropy. All proceeds from the event support the Care Reimagined campaign.
Philanthropy has been the cornerstone of the Greenwood Genetic Center’s history spanning over 50 years. We want to honor and recognize those who contribute to our mission. All donors, no matter their gift size, are celebrated and important to the Foundation and for their generosity, we are truly grateful.
Gregor Mendel left a tremendous scientific legacy as the ‘Father of Genetics’. We honor donors who also leave a lasting legacy by making GGC Foundation the beneficiary of a planned gift.
