First Citizens Bank Supports GGC’s ‘Care Reimagined’ Campaign

(March 26, 2025)  – First Citizens Bank is supporting the Greenwood Genetic Center’s (GGC) Precision Medicine Initiative with a $30,000 gift to the GGC Foundation’s ‘Care Reimagined’ campaign.

“Patients with a rare disease often wait years for an accurate diagnosis, which delays appropriate care,” said Cady Nell Keener, Executive Director of the GGC Foundation. “The ‘Care Reimagined’ campaign is funding GGC’s efforts in precision medicine for patients with genetic disorders to help shorten the time to diagnosis and identify effective treatments to improve their quality of life.”

GGC’s Precision Medicine Initiative is defined through the four “A”s: Access, Analysis, Answers, and Action. These four pillars represent the patient’s journey at the Greenwood Genetic Center, guiding the entire process of personalized care. Access connects the patient with the necessary services while analysis enhances GGC’s ability to detect genetic variations with greater accuracy – providing answers and ultimately action in the form of treatments and therapies to improve their quality of life.

“First Citizens Bank is proud to bolster the outstanding work happening at the Greenwood Genetic Center,” said Jerry Stevens, Senior Vice President and Market Executive for First Citizens Bank. “Their dedication to advancing patient care is directly impacting families right here in our community and around the world.”

“We are so grateful for First Citizens Bank’s commitment to serving their community and for their long-time support of our work,” said Dr. Steve Skinner, President and CEO of the Greenwood Genetic Center. “With this investment in our ‘Care Reimagined’ campaign, we will continue to harness the power of novel genomic technologies to provide patients and families with the timely cutting-edge care that they deserve.”
