Greenwood Genetic Center Announces New Board Appointments

Greenwood, SC (January 27, 2026) – The Greenwood Genetic Center (GGC) announces the appointment of Dr. Matt Logan to the GGC Board of Directors and Kevin Kandalaft and Ted Pitts to the GGC Holdings Board.

GGC’s Board of Directors is comprised of 12 members, with six appointed by the GGC Holdings Board and six appointed by the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). The Board provides oversight of the Center’s governance, including fiscal stewardship, strategic planning, and advocacy in support of GGC’s mission.

The GGC Holdings Board, established in 2022, is responsible for appointing the six GGC representatives to the Board of Directors and exercising additional authorities outlined in the GGC/MUSC Membership Agreement.

Matt Logan, MD, (left) of Greenwood, SC, is President and CEO of Self Regional Healthcare where he previously served for 17 years as an emergency room physician and held the role of Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Logan rejoins the GGC Board of Directors, having first served in 2022, and continued his support of the Center as a member of the GGC Holdings Board during the interim.

Kevin Kandalaft (center) of Chapin, SC, is a retired UnitedHealthcare executive and former CEO of Community & State plans in California and New Mexico. With more than 25 years of healthcare leadership and executive experience, Kevin offers invaluable insight into healthcare operations, community engagement, and serving underserved populations. He has also been appointed to the GGC Foundation Board of Trustees.

Ted Pitts (right) of Lexington, SC, is President and CEO of Wilson Kibler Commercial Real Estate. His distinguished career includes service in the U.S. military, the South Carolina House of Representatives, as Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff to former Governor Nikki Haley, and as President and CEO of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. Pitts has served on the GGC Foundation Board of Trustees since 2023.
