For Teachers and Students

Students of today are the innovators of tomorrow in genetic medicine. It is a point of pride for the Greenwood Genetic to educate students, teachers and the public about the work conducted here and the larger field of genetic and genomic medicine.

In addition to genetic research, GGC maintains an educational mission to expand understanding in the field of genetics and encourage students to consider this field in their future. Our Genetic Education Center is available for teachers and students from middle school through high school providing field trips to our Greenwood campus.

Mobile Science Labs

If schools are unable to come to Greenwood, GGC’s mobile genetics labs, the Gene Machine and Helix Express, can come to you. These mobile science labs travels across South Carolina, providing educational outreach for students to learn about current technology, use state-of-the-art equipment, and explore the many careers available in the life sciences.

Whether on our campus or in the mobile lab, GGC’s goal is to acquaint students with the exciting, cutting-edge work in science and show them the potential of a career in this field.

Learn more about our programs and how to schedule a visit to GGC or from the mobile science lab for your high school or middle school.
