Case Review

The Greenwood Genetic Center holds a monthly meeting involving employees from all five GGC offices across South Carolina. Held on the 4th Wednesday of each month (3rd Wednesday of November and December), GGC clinicians, diagnosticians, researchers, educators, and administrators gather in Greenwood or via teleconference.

The first hour is a business meeting for announcements and discussion by GGC faculty and staff.

The remainder of the morning involves lab directors and clinicians presenting patient cases. They may choose to present cases that are instructive/educational or challenging cases in which they ask for advice from their genetics colleagues. Only GGC employees and guests who are invited and have completed HIPAA training are allowed to attend.

Lunch is provided, and all GGC employees are invited to a one hour seminar by a GGC faculty member or invited guest speaker on a topic of relevance. Continuing education credits are often provided for these seminars.
