Lee Promoted to Associate Director

Jennifer A. Lee, PhD, has been promoted to Associate Director of the Greenwood Genetic Center’s Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory. She earned a doctorate in Molecular and Human Genetics from the Baylor College of Medicine where she also completed a Clinical Molecular Fellowship. Prior to joining GGC in 2013, Dr. Lee spent several years in Germany where she established testing platforms for the routine diagnosis of intellectual disability at the University of Bonn.

Her work at GGC has been focused on the routine molecular diagnosis of pre- and postnatal samples for a variety of genetic conditions generated using a host of molecular platforms including traditional assays to detect DNA sequence alterations and DNA copy-number changes, as well as Next Generation Sequencing. Dr. Lee’s background is in the study of copy-number variation, complex DNA rearrangements, and genomic disorders, and she has a particular interest in intellectual disability syndromes, neuromuscular disorders, and connective tissue disorders.
Dr. Lee is board certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics. She is also a member of the American Society of Human Genetics.
